This is by far the thickest Yoga mat that I have ever seen. It is absolutely chunky and soft. However, it is not just a big slab of foam. The texture of the mat is intricate and well executed. It has a nice nonslip side and a user side. The mat overall is soft.My wife will take this to her Yoga classes and report back.As a side note, the mat is also thick enough for many many other tasks. Work benches, guitar repair, hobbies and crafts, etc.
